The purple stretch carnival was made by Fenton Glass Company exclusively for Levay Glass Distributing Company in1982. Each of the 10 different items was a limited edition for Levay Glass. There were two of the items that was limited to a certain amount, however the other pieces were limited to quantity ordered. When Levay first started to sell the purple stretch carnival. One of the adds stated the below:

"Not only is this the re-creation of fine quality art glass, but it is also a revival of a style from over a half century ago. The ending of the art nouveau period and the beginning of the art deco period, while reflected in the design and texture of this purple stretch collection. If Louis Tiffany were alive today to see this purple stretch collection with the full development of color and rich heavy iridescence stretch finish, he would undoubtedly be envious."

I am sure with only 10 different items produced in a limited number will only increase in value over time. But I ask you to remember that this is guide, not a final word, and while a piece may be rare in one part of the country, it is likely to be some what common in another. Being that this was so limited I would be safe to say its not to common in any area.
